Everglades Fishing Charter

Traversing the shallow waters of Everglades National Park by boat presents its own set of challenges. For starters the average water depth is only about three feet deep. Add to that a tidal range in excess of three feet and you quickly realize that conditions can get "skinny" (shallow). Many times we're sight fishing in water that is so shallow most boats would not even float.

Hells Bay Fly Fishing Skiff

My boat is made by Hells Bay Boatworks the undisputed leader in saltwater fly fishing skiffs. She is specifically designed to meet the challenge of quietly stalking fish in skinny water.

On An Average Day

Our game plan will vary depending on a number of factors like season, tide, wind direction, and water temperature. But generally I try to depart from my dock at Glades Haven Marina before 7 AM. From there we'll head directly into Everglades National Park to fish.

Light tackle sight fishing is the name of the game... And boy is it exciting. Using a push pole, I'll move the Hells's Bay skiff quietly down mangrove shorlines. From the elevated poling platform I'll have a bird's eye view of the surrounding waters, where I'm able to spot fish for you to cast to. When a game fish is located I'll quietly reposition the skiff to a tactical position for your cast. Imagine standing on the bow, rod in hand, and a "bruiser" Redfish or Snook is cruising towards you, completely unaware of your presence.

To suit all angling abilities (beginner to expert) I carry both fly and spin fishing tackle that is properly rigged for current conditions.
